Product brands filter

Is there any way of filtering products by the built in brands? I tried using the 3. party plugin perfect brands, however this did not work, and only created two sets of brand attributes on the products. I would like to avoid this if its possible. Thank you.

Hi, thank you for the response. I am having issues with this plugin as the filter does not update the product pages automatically with or the filter button pressed. Do you have any suggestions?
